Holly Nelson has more than ten years of teaching experience. In 2021, she was a visiting artist-lecturer at Fordham University where she presented workshops and led string sectionals for the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center student orchestras. In 2021 she also presented master classes and served as guest adjudicator for violin juries at the University of Maryland Baltimore County as an InterPlay Teaching Fellow. In 2022 she was invited to coach a string sectional for the UMBC student orchestra. From 2018-2020, Ms. Nelson served as the teaching assistnat to Giora Schmidt at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she led studio classes, taught a bi-weekly violin technique class and gave supplementary private lessons to BM-DMA level violin majors. She also taught a for-credit "Violin for Violists" elective Spring '19. 

As part of her Fulbright Grant to Argentina ('22-'23) Ms. Nelson will be presenting classical violin recitals and master classes throughout Argentina, and when she returns to the United States she will present tango music workshops at universities including the Peabody Institute of Music, Duke University and the University of Maryland Baltimore County. 

Ms. Nelson maintains a selective private violin studio. Her students have been accepted to the prestigious Juilliard Precollege program, won youth concerto competitions and have served as concertmaster of their youth orchestras through competitive auditions. Ms. Nelson's priorities as an educator are creating a supportive, encouraging and creative learning environment in which students can feel empowered to reach their highest potential. 

Ms. Nelson has completed Suzuki Teacher Training through Book V and is an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
